Services
Buffalo Laser Spa & Cheryl's Hair Removal Center has been providing laser hair removal for its clients since 1998. That's over 22 consecutive years in Buffalo NY. We have more experience than even the National Chains in laser hair removal. Our "New" Venus Velocity laser hair removal device is able to remove unwanted hair with less pain.
Today many men are more concerned with body grooming and now are looking into effective hair removal treatments. Men feel more comfortable removing back hair or significantly thinning or removing chest hair. In the past, maybe only swimmers and runners really needed to go through the pain and irritation of shaving or waxing.
As a woman, you have likely spent a lot of time and money over the years in keeping your legs, underarms, bikini and other body areas hair free. A razor, waxing, or some depilatory creams may do the job temporarily, but these methods can be very time consuming and the cost of razors and other temporary methods can really add up over time.
Many women are now looking into effective hair removal treatments to remove their Happy Trail. That collection of hair that starts around the belly button and heads "south" is known as the "Happy Trail", and many women are no longer happy with the excessive hair buildup in this body region. Laser Hair Removal Happy Trail has been a dream for most women to achieve.

The woman who cut my hair cut it about an inch and a half shorter on one side then on the other. It looked worse than any haircut I've had in my life. I got a friend with little haircutting experience to even it out, and she did a much better job than my hairdresser. I'm not quite sure the name of my hairdresser because she didn't introduce herself, but I believe it was Amanda.

RE Dancinpresident W: Think it's a little unfair for you to judge and post a review about a business that you personally had no interaction with. I, on the other hand did have multiple conversations with the bride you're referring to. I understand that when people are unhappy or stressed they tend to focus on all the negativity and you do not have an accurate account of our interaction with her.

We had 1 stylist available on this holiday weekend to do hair ONLY. (The rest of us were booked because other brides called further in advance for a holiday weekend wedding) That was made very clear to her from the start. We told her WE would try to find a makeup artist for her, even went out of MY way to contact multiple people. Remember, this was a holiday weekend and I was having no luck.

I gave her the names of other salons that might be able to accommodate her, as well as individual names. The stylist that was originally booked to do the hair did have a family issue. Her grandmother needed round the clock care due to an accident and her dementia. She passed away in this time period. So you're accusation is NOT valid. You should never judge when you don't know the facts. I'm also sure that I did finally find a very qualified makeup artist that I sent to her after I learned that she had booked a hair stylist.

I gave all her information to the girl and she was the new contact. I didn't even know this bride but went out of MY way.above and beyond to help her as much as possible. I guess in hind sight I should've just said NO, we can't do anything. We have an excellent reputation, especially when it comes to wedding parties and professionalism.

Clearly your review won't affect that, but you should know the whole story if you're gonna take the time to post. By the way. I still have all the emails (10) from your friend (the bride) and she was more than thankful for my help from day one. I also have the many emails I sent to other stylists and makeup artists in our area, looking for someone to help her out. If you'd like copies, I'd be happy to forward them to you.

Warning: I did not use their services. I did not even have the chance due to their unprofessionalism and sincere lack of thoughtfulness or care for potential clients. My friend booked this company for hair and make up for her wedding day, which fell over a holiday weekend. The booking was made several months in advance. Approximately five (5) weeks before her wedding, she received notice that the booking was being cancelled, without any specific (let alone VALID or justifiable) reason.

A pathetic attempt was made at providing a few names for replacements, who clearly could not handle the volume of a wedding party. The bride's mother and sister spent the next two (2) weeks calling over thirty (30) other salons in the area, attempting to book services for six (6) hair do's and six (6) make up's for a HOLIDAY weekend wedding. Needless to say, the task was daunting and difficult, but was completed successfully.

After the fact, an email was sent by the company with a vague excuse that someone in the family was sick and they were just no longer available for LDW. No further solution or alternative assistance was provided to the bride. Emergencies happen. Matters arise in life that leave you in a tough spot. But being a professional should never change, regardless of your personal circumstances. That's what owning a business entails. Based on this company's failure to handle this cancellation appropriately and professionally, I would never recommend them. Who knows if it will be your wedding day in the future.

I recently got married in Ithaca NY and this is where my bridal party got their hair and makeup done. We had a pretty early wedding (at 11am) and needed to get 8 of us through hair and makeup so we had to find a place that would start at 7am! Some sleuthing led us to Hair Etc (another option was Transfomations but they were a bit out of our price range) and we're so happy with the service we received.

In my bridal party we had a number of girls waiver on the amount of services they wanted (mostly wanting to add makeup/upgrade to updos) and Bridget was wonderful about working with me to make sure we had enough stylists there to accommodate everyone. Bridget was responsible for both my updo and my sister's updo as my maid of honor. There were both awesome curly updos just as we requested and we received many compliments throughout the day!

They also withstood hours of dancing at the reception (and when I say dancing this includes lots of rocking to Springsteen). It may have taken 40 minutes to take my hair our, but it was totally worth it for a hairdo that could withstand over 12 hours of wedding festivities. In general my bridal party tends not to wear a lot of makeup, so we did need to request a more natural look for some of the bridesmaids and myself (the default was to a more heavily defined eye), but they were good at encouraging us to go a little further with the makeup (with the help of our photographer) and I was really happy with the results!

They really let us take over the salon that morning, even setting up a table for us to have coffee and scones laid out for breakfast. Towards the end of our primping there were a few other customers, so it wasn't fully private, but they did make sure to have us completely done and out of there by 10am to head up to the chapel. I would definitely recommend Hair Etc to any bride in the Ithaca area looking for affordable quality service!

One of the hairdressers that tried to color my hair had no idea what she was doing. Instead of blond she colored it to green / gray. Then she tried to fix it for 5 hours but didn't succeed. Complete disaster!

Please note: my review is strictly for the massage therapist there, Amy Marshall. She was fabulous, much more professional and soothing and into her work than I'm used to getting at a salon that has multiple services and isn't a "spa". Very affordable, sweet, and experienced! I will definitely go see her again. My hour massage was actually an hour (actually she went over and it was 65 minutes), vs the normal 50 minutes, and I got there early and she soaked my feet for free.

It was $60 before tip. But she did say she was raising prices soon. only cash or check for her though--I guess she's paid separately from the salon. (ps. this place is now on cayuga st not on Hanshaw like yelp says!)
